THEODORA
M. MAKRI
SPATIAL DESIGNER · SCENOGRAPHER · PERFORMANCE DESIGNER
Theodora M. Makri is a spatial designer, scenographer, and performance designer working across live experience, installation, and ritual-based performance. Her work explores transformation, memory, and emotional space — creating symbolic environments where light, movement, and material act as carriers of inner worlds.
With a background in architecture and scenographic filmmaking, she defines her practice as Emotional Architecture — an exploration of how space, light, and story shape emotional experience. Moving between stage, installation, and image-making, she often uses silence, myth, and the body to construct sensory narratives.
She studied architecture at the Architectural Association in London (MArch) and holds an MA in Filmmaking from the London Film School with a focus on production design and performative image. She is currently completing a professional master’s in Creative Direction and is an active member of a scenography lab, further developing performance-led spatial projects.
Based in Athens with strong ties to London, she works internationally — directing and designing live experiences that blur the line between atmosphere, ritual, and spatial storytelling.
